VENTURA, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2009) – Ventura Raceway has scheduled a practice session for Saturday, Feb. 28. Seven divisions will practice in both single- and multi-car formats.
The format and list of divisions invited for the Feb. 28 event has changed. The track’s youth divisions, Sport Compact, Junior Focus Midgets, Focus Midgets, TQ Midgets and Dwarf Cars will practice on the 28th.
Another session, for other divisions, has been slated for March 7.
Saturday’s schedule calls for the Ventura Racing Association’s Mini Dwarf and Junior Midgets to practice for three hours, starting at 10 a.m. The pits will open at 9:30 a.m. for those divisions only.
The pits will open for the adult categories at noon and technical inspections will be available at that time until 3 p.m.
The adult categories will conduct single-car runs for two hours starting at 1 p.m. Group sessions will start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.
Pit passes cost $30 but grandstand admission is free.
The 2009 season opener is scheduled for March 14.
Ventura Raceway is the only successful professional sports franchise in Ventura County history and is among the longest-tenured entities at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
SCHEDULE FOR THE FEB. 28 PRACTICE
9:30 - Pit gates open for youth division teams.
10-1 - Practice for VRA Mini Dwarf and Junior Midgets only.
Noon - Pit gates open for Sports Compact, Junior Focus Midgets, Focus Midgets, TQ Midgets and Dwarf Cars only. Technical inspection begins.
1-3 - Single car runs for adult divisions.
3:30 - Group sessions begin.
Anyone know if the kids are going to get charged admission.
I know we do normally, but I thought since our open practice during the banquet got rained out, we might get to practice for free this saturday.
Anyone know???

Your post implies that the big dwarfs will only practice this weekend, Please let us know because we were only bringing the little ones this weekend and planned on practice with the big dwarfs next weekend.
My understanding is, that it has not be determined at this point if the Regular Dwarfs will practice on the following Saturday 3/7/09. There is also the weather factor for next Saturday, that's why we're going to be there this week.
Sorry if that doesn't help, that's all I know about the practice schedule.
As to my post, I just copied and pasted from the VRA Fan site. If anyone has questions about the practice schedule, contact Ventura Raceway, I sure Jammy would be glad to answer them for you.
