Well said Kevin! Congratulations on your points championship! It was well deserved! We are just out there for a hobby. Is everything always fair? Of course not. Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you! It all evens out and hopefully the good can be better remembered and the bad forgotten. I hope to see you more often next year with a more competitive car!!! Everyone have a very happy holiday season!
But really, First Everyone needs to read and UNDERSTAND the rules, especially when it comes to scoring. I think one thing that needs to be pointed out is that a car doesn’t have to stop on the racetrack to cause a yellow. A car can be a true hazard on the track and the Driver Safety is about to become an issue, the Flagman could throw the yellow. If a yellow flag come out and ALL Cars (expect the one/s that cause the yellow) have not come around to the flag stand, that lap WILL NOT Count. So someone might think that they are ahead of one or more cars but in reality, they are not.
Then, there are the issues that the Race Director can and will move cars back at the end of the race, like racers jumping the start/restart, ruff driving, etc.
One issue that I believe that needs to be addressed stronger is Drivers that are driving above their experience and being out of control. Yes, being fast is what we all strive for, however, when your fast but can not control the car, many more crashes happen. Crashes not only cost in car repair but also in the amount of time that each class in allowed each night to race. If, as with the last night of racing, it takes 30 minutes to get 8 laps completed, you know that your main is going to be cut way short.
These are just my remarks, and have nothing to do with the Management of Ventura Raceway.
