HI everybody,

The 2009 racing season is upon us, most of our clubs are preparing for our first point races or to attend the first national event in death valley. We will post the entry form today. This will be the 2nd year at this track. There has been alot of work done to the track at the offseason. This year the races will be run earlier in the day with the goal to be finihsed by dark. Thursday there will be open practice along with the big dog contest. There will be the WSDCA banquet at the Longstreet hotel and casino following the practice with eveyrone invited to attend. The awards will be for the 2008 racing season with championship jackets in all divisions and other awards.

Racing will be on friday and saturday, returning to the hotel saturday night for the awards ceremony. Tom and Kristy Cotrell have been working very hard to put this event together. We would like to see a great showing from each of our WSDCA affliated clubs to start out a new year of racing and fun. Success of these events start at the local club level by the president or wsdca rep promoting these races. I beleive that the 2009 season may be our most challenging season ever due to the condition of the economy and we need to encourage all drivers to support these racing events. A great idea for your drivers who travel is to team up and put 2 or 3 cars in one trailer to save costs. It also may allow someone to come race, who wouldnt have been able to before. If each club brought a driver who had never been to a national, we would have 1 more car who was hooked on coming to these events and being involved in furthering our sport. I am asking you to invite your drivers to bring their families to these events as well. All the nationals and regionals have things for families to do during the day and are fun and exciting places to explore.

If you are reading this, and you are from another state or association, we would like to invite you to come and participate at a WSDCA event. I also encourage you to participate and support your local dwarf car racing club wherever you are.

Sorry mamadwarf, as much as I'd like to attend some of your Major
National events, It appears that VRA has scheduling conflicts with most
of those events. It's amazing how that could happen.....
