Hello all members and fans of the VRA. I have published a 288 page, 1,550 photo nostalgia book titled "Memories of the California Jalopy Association" which documents jalopy racing in Southern California from 1938 through 1969. Race tracks include Culver City, Gardena Stadium (Western Speedway), Ascot Park, Orange Show, and many others. Drivers included are Bob Hogle, Billy Wilkerson, Jimmy Oskie, and hundreds more. Parnelli Jones wrote the "Foreword" for the book.
The book documents the 1932 and 1934 Fords and how they were used on the short tracks. Also included is the early figure-8 racing at Ascot during the 1960s.
