Hey Guys, and Gals,

As a spectator at Ventura Raceway for many years, and the desire to race just about anything, the time had come to find myself on the other side of the bleachers, I had met some Simi Valley locals into dwarf cars and decided that was for me. I have had a lot of help from my neighboring car owners, and I have had a lot of fun.

As we all know there has been months of drama, separate views, and we all have our opinion. Bottom line is we all have a dwarf car to race them right? The drama seems to have settled, moral is up.

I make this notion with no ulterior motive other than to get as many of the VRA guys to race an national if you have or never have. Those of you who have can contest you will drive your car more in three days than you can all season at "any" local club race.

Now this is where it gets touchy, but keep an open mind 100% no motive, bad blood, hard feelings have any play at all. TODCA  " the other" all in humor got terribly blown out of proportion. That's right, its " the other" for one major reason, the roots are VRA club, I am still a VRA member, and will continue to be a VRA member as longs as Ventura Raceway is around and Dwarf cars are welcome to race. WSDCA has its protocol for a club to be WSDCA members. VRA for 2009 is not a WSDCA official member, meaning to race a national you either 1. join another club that is a WSDCA, or 2. pay non member fees, and collect zero national points. Non member fees are only $25 per national additional. TODCA paid the fee to become a WSDCA with the intent of promoting more drivers to a national. Not to take away from any other club, nor promote as being a club, undermine any authority, simply a few guys tired of a lot of whining, wanting to race and have a great time. For 2009 TODCA is accepting a $25 donation for a membership simply to promote a great time. so one National you have paid your membership. Pit passes generally include a meal Friday and Saturday night, but don't quote me on that.

I have made many friends, iron out any differences with my foes, and get along with each and everyone of you, I simply want to have a good time.

TODCA is not a personal attack in any form, everyone form VRA and anywhere else welcome, I would like to find a positive nationals club bringing any and all dwarf car drivers together and creating a strong comradery.  Ventura is where we all race and love. That's home no matter what.

Lodging, the Tachi ( http://www.tachipalace.com/ ) hotel and Casino is real close to the track, and can guarantee a good time following racing each night. Rooms are $179 a night, for Friday and Saturday nights only there are 15 total rooms blocked with the promotional code "TODCA" with room rates at $114 a night. Rooms will go fast, 4 are gone so if your in do not procrastinate.

Nationals are a party, a comradery, a lot of seat time. I personally would like to encourage each and everyone of you to head out to Hanford, its memorial weekend, great timing. No VRA club race for Pro or Vet Dwarfs, no kids classes. CDCRA Hanford national will be great with your attendance. Kids are welcome in the pits, Thursday you have open practice. Friday is a full day of racing, and even an opportunity there may be a mini dwarf race (Friday only). Saturday is the big show. There is three classes, Pro, Vet, and the second year of the sportsman class.  So no matter your skill, age or ability there is a class for you to run, and not have any intimidation feeling as if you will run over, or be run over.
From experience SNDCA national 2009 in Armagosa, I ran more than 100 laps a day, and never saw an A main. Hot laps, a heat and two 20 lap main events. C and B mains, one spot away from another 30 lap A main. That's a lot of racing for one day, its AWESOME. In my 100 laps per day in all heats, mains combined, its was constant wheel to wheel racing, with a maximum 4 caution flags in my heat, C and B main combined, with no major wrecks.
The regional in 2008 that was re-scheduled to run in Hanford was the first and only time I had run that track, its big, fast and plenty of room to go three wide and have a clean race.

Once again, I have no motive or intent to strip away, or influence anything aside of a good time. Lets see the VRA dwarf cars go 40 cars strong to a national so close to home, on an off weekend, pull together and have a great time. Points or no points, WSDCA membership or not, TODCA or not, pull together and lets plan to have a great time.

This is simply my own personal opinion, has no reflection on any Club, individual, or group.  Please note this is in no way, shape, form a plug that TODCA has intent of undermining club The intent is seat time and racing. For those of you who cannot make it to Hanford for the CDCRA national, see you at Ventura.

  My Sincere regards,
  Eric Alton #92

Sounds like a lot of fun.  Just curious about the track size.  How much larger than Ventura?  Is it the size of PAS?  Just wondering what rear end gear I would run with my ZX12R.  Cheap Chuck have you been out there?

Thanks

NO I HAVE NOT BEEN THERE BUT, MY BEST GUESS WOULD BE PERRIS GEARING. WHICH IS WHEN WE RAN PERRIS 4.3 IN 4th GEAR IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. I'M SURE IF I'M INCORRECT BRIAN WILL REMEMBER OR SOMEONE ELSE THAT HAS ACTUALLY RUN CAN SAY IF IT'S SME GEARING OR THING RELATIVE A TRACK YOU CAN IDENTIFY TO. YOU KNOW, ONE RATIO HIGHER OR LOW THAN SAY BAKERSFEILD OF ANOTHER TRACK.

Can you verify if the Mini Dwarfs can race the VRA 6.5hp motors at Hanford???

According to WSDCA you can only run 5.5hp motors - will there be two different classes or will 6.5 be illegal???

Mini dwarf details are being adressed. Answers will be posted as soon as details are worked out in the event a mini dwarf race will happen at all. Once again, nothing was set in stone there will be a mini race for sure, and if so chances are it will be Friday only. Thanks for the inquery, and I will have some information as soon as I can.
Regards, Eric Alton
