The Man In The Arena
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.
Its a poem. He just forgot to put the real authors name at the end. It was written by Theodore Roosevelt april 23rd, 1910 and read in a speech while in Paris.
Was a great job by Calvo holding onto the lead like he did. One mistake and Benson would have flew right by him because it looked like he was on a mission to get to the front.
Was wondering why it shows that Calvo and Benson were DQ'd in the final results???

From what I understand the top two did not go to tech after finishing the race. Now that is only what I was told and I did not hear it from an official. _________________ Curt Cook

thank you sofaking for posting the part of the speach that really matters and congratulations to calvo and benson for there one two finish!! been at this two years and walking away from the feild looks like we've got them scared

The first post was pasted from something I found as I found it and thought appropriate for the moment.I did know Teddy spoke it.I do believe in sportsmanship, clean driving ,Class and trying to improve things I care about.Too those who were offended by this, stay offended.As always thank you Mr graphics for extending a helping hand when someone has came up short.
Once again Congratulations to George Calvo great race , and Mike Neal you both have came a long way in a short time.
